Protein Coffee Jellies

Protein Coffee Jellies Yummy jelly/gummy snacks that taste like coffee! Super simple to make and perfect for an extra boost of protein or caffeine! Ingredients: 3 packets Knox Gelatin 1 cup soy milk +1/2 cup soy milk (milk or water also work) 2 tsp trader joes columbian coffee (or desired coffee source) 5 tsp honey (or prefered sweetener)  Procedure: Add gelatin to 1/2 cup soymilk and let sit while you do step 2. This is to let the geletin bloom so that it doesn't get chunky when you add it to the hot coffee. Add 1 cup soy milk to a sauce pot and heat over medium-low heat until simmering. Remove from heat. Add coffee and honey to hot soy milk. Stir. Add gelatin mixture to hot coffee mixture. Stir until gelatin dissolves. Pour mixture into molds or a baking dish. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Pop the jellies out of the mold and enjoy!

Best Soft Pretzels EVER!

I have tried a lot of recipes. Most of which somehow don't turn out right. I have no idea why, but they always seem to fail, especially on the first attempt making it. But, low and behold, a soft pretzel recipe that actually turned out SO GOOD on my first try making the recipe! I have already made this recipe multiple times because of how good it is! It's soft, especially right out of the oven.  It's buttery (no kidding), even though it has NO BUTTER in it whatsoever (so perfect for those who can't have dairy, like me!).  And, it actually tastes like a pretzel! The recipe is adapted from the "Buttery Soft Pretzels" recipe from Allrecipes.com. Some changes I made: I decreased the amount of flour by 1 cup because my dough was already doughy enough (adding the extra 1 cup would have made the dough too dry).  I decreased the boiling water by 1 cup because I made each pretzel smaller in size, which meant I could use a smaller pot to dip my pretzels in an...

Why is coconut oil healthy?

What do coconut oil, butter, and other kinds of fat from animals have in common? They are all saturated fats. Yet coconut oil is supposedly good for us with health benefits such as weight loss, increasing good cholesterol levels, and decreasing risk of cardiovascular diseases. On the other hand, the American Heart Association recommends us to limit saturated fat consumption. So ... what explains the benefits of coconut oil? The difference between coconut oil and fat from animals is in the length of the fatty acids. Coconut oil is a medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA) while fat from animals are long-chain fatty acids (LCFA). MCFAs have a carbon backbone of 7-12 carbons, while LCFAs have more than 12 carbons. The body digests these fats differently. LCFAs are digested through the lymphatic system.
